Nobody can forget their first love

I watched "The Notebook" last night with my housemate faye and her officemate lei. I liked the movie (guess i'm not too cynical anymore) and though it was kinda predictable, it didn't bother me. I also liked the young characters playing Noah and Ally. Noah played by Ryan Gosling was one of the killers in the movie "Murder By Numbers", he was the rich one, while Ally was portrayed by Rachel McAdams, the lead plastic in the movie "Mean Girls".

The story would be like our typical tele-novelas, the girl will be filthy rich while the guy is just a typical country man, but then they will fall in love. As usual, the parents of the rich girl disapprove of their love and so they did all they can to separate them. Seven years later, after having new lives on their own, they meet again and had to choose between the past and the present. Ok, enough of the plot.

The movie, though mostly dramatic also has a touch of comedy. Kumbaga sa lalaki, that's pogi points for me. The acting and the script were so natural. Lots of intense kissing and making out, and very funny sexy scenes. Yep, i just said funny. Well, just watch it to find out why.

If you like the love story of "A Walk to Remember", then i'm quite sure you'll like this movie. However, i must warn you that after watching the movie, you might end up wishing for a guy just like Ryan Gosling or a girl like Rachel McAdams. Now, i'm just not sure if that's good or bad.

Comments:

si jam paborito yung 'a walk to remember'. hehehe, parehong nicholas sparks novel yun diba?

the movie does not come close to the book. it's really good. i've even given it as a gift on two separate occasions, it's that good. pero the book was very serious, no funny stuff.

yup.. i really liked the book.. i'm thinking of buying it before it gets the movie poster cover like a walk to remember.. as for the movie.. it looks like one of the many movies i'll miss watching on the big screen.. or ever..

...and to think dati si sarah galit sa mga love related stuff, hehe

yung libro ha. hindi yung movie. haven't seen the movie. at wala akong balak.

ey.. i read the notebook during that period of time.. and d nmn ako galit.. kinikilabutan lang rather than kinikilig w/ d icky love stuff.. :-p and nagpro-promulgate lang na "don't fall in love".. hahaha.. :-p

movie was nice. mas romantic sya kesa sa book, pero mas moving ung book. :)

nobody can forget their first love. e kaw che, sino ba perslab mo? si allen? hehe!

i love the book better...the movie was mushy and they overrated the part for the sexy stuff...
